The rhetoric on either side has not split the conservative movement. I will agree, however, that it has split the Republican party. That is the problem with the Republican party, it has too many who are not conservatives. And, the bill almost passed before with a Republican majority. On this issue, I don’t see any difference between who is in control.

Let's see. 2006, bill stopped by a slight GOP (mostly) majority in the House. 2007, worse bill passes (probably).

You're right. No difference at all.
