Yesterday they voted against Cornyn's amendment to disqualify a larger class of felons and absconders from Z visas.

Kennedy asserted that the amnedment must be rejected to "protect confidentiality".

In his now-typical dip into the 5th dimension of senile dementia, Specter said we must allow felons to apply for Z visas because they deserve due process (rememeber, they're already convicted felons), and that absconders deserve "detailed review" of their cases by the immigration court (to be an absconder you must already have gone through an extensive immigration review and appeal process). But for unknown reasons Specter believes the Z visa warrants yet another appeal.

One gets the impression that Specter believes there are unlimited judicial resources to get dragged into (a second) review and 12 to 20 million Z visa applications.
