While I hope that-—scratch-—while I PRAY that’s true, and I’m pessimistic since I think we have suicidal idiots in the GOP and lunatics on the left running the show, if it IS killed who wants to bet what is cited as the deal breaker is something like making English the national language. Your instincts are right. With GOP senators, stupidity and weakness are bottomless. The bill MAY be on the brink of collapse. But I wouldn’t bet on it. When Drudge has a “developing” story, it could simply mean that they’ve heard a rumor and are trying to chase it down. They run irresponsible headlines like with the huge caveat — “developing,” which really just means, “possibly” — so they can get credit for “reporting” the news first if it turns out to be true. Sort of like California weathermen who predict a “chance of rain.”
That is what Salazar said when the Inhofe amendment was passed.
