An AP article just came across the wire detailing another gaffe by presidential hopeful Mitt Romney (R-Mass.). Apparently, while in New Hampshire, Romney was confronted by an openly gay women who was disturbed by the former governors position on gay marriage. And in challenging him, she may have unwittingly changed or re-changed or re-re-changed his position on gay rights.
There are other ways to raise kids thats fine: single moms, grandparents raising kids, gay couples raising kids. Thats the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice, he said.
Umm
what? Weve lost track now, but we thought Romney opposed gay adoption and gay marriage. We have stopped being surprised by his all-too-often position changes - even from one month to the next - but we certainly never expected him to say gay couples raising kids is the American way.

but we certainly never expected him to say gay couples raising kids is the American way. Because he didn't. He said the freedom to do so is American, and he's right.

What’s that whirring sound?
The distant report of Willard “Weatherboy” Romney reversing his position again.

Hold it. Don't condemn Mitt too fast. After all, he was in New England when he said this. We all know he said all kinds of "pro-choice" things when he was pandering to MA voters; so of course...he's in NH...out pops more "pro-choice" verbiage in regard to "let's let ANY combo of parentage raise kids...I'm 'pro-choice' when I'm in New England and I always will be (when I'm in New England)."

I'm 'pro-choice' when I'm in New England and I always will be (when I'm in New England).Perfect.

There are other ways to raise kids thats fine: single moms, grandparents raising kids, gay couples raising kids. Thats the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice, he said.I would say this re-opens the debate on polygamy. I mean, it does, if polygamists only cohabited together minus an actual marriage. Then Mitt could add another comma to the above statement and say: "There are other ways to raise kids that's fine: single moms, grandparents raising kids, gay couples raising kids, cohabiting polygamists--as long as the extra wives remain unmarried--raising kids. Thats the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice."
To: JRochelle
So he thinks we should not intrude in peoples lives as long as children are not threatened, but he also thinks we should not change our laws about marriage?
Beside the misleading headline, Am I missing something here?
To: SteveMcKing
I agree SteveMcKing. Running two separate sentences together is making news. Stating what was said, two separate sentences, is reporting the news. "Thats the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice, is what he said.
Doing it the reporters way "gay couples raising kids" the reporter needs to report every thing that was said to include "single moms raising kids is the American way" and "grandparents raising kids is the American way." Let's report it all if we decide to run together what he said.

” Because he didn’t. He said the freedom to do so is American, and he’s right.”
What he said was...
“There are other ways to raise kids thats fine: single moms, grandparents raising kids, gay couples raising kids. Thats the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice, he said.”
And it’s not fine... None of them are “fine”. Is it that you can’t read, or can’t you understand?

gay couples raising kidsAnd hey, Mitt, why stop at couples? How about a gay college fraternity house raising kids? After all, we know your bottom line: Thats the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice.
