How can it be true? Then, no one would have allowed Inhofe’s amendment to even come to the floor, it would have been a waste of time.
Inhofe’s amendment was passed by a greater margin, after the vote on Salazar’s—if they both remain, they are contradictory.
Someone, maybe Inhofe, said it would be settle in ‘conference’ on how to handle the conflict. You can guess it won’t be good. The slimy slugs voted 64 for it so they could go home and said they did, then voted for the other Salazar one too.
Yes, there was vote switching between the two amendments. Jeff Sessions just wrapped up a tremendous speech castigating those who developed this bill in secret, and now want to limit the consideration of amendments. He called them “the Masters of the Universe”—it was great.
They just adjourned until tomorrow morning at 10 am.
The Republic is safe until then, at least.

The Inhofe amendment only makes English the “national language”, not “official language”. But, as noted above by JCEccles, the Salazar amendment makes English “a” language of the U.S. And it forces the government to provide “native language” documents, etc.
The Ihofe amendment was only allowed to the floor so that it could serve as a CYA for those who support this P.O.S. bill, so they can try to appease the vast majority of American voters who want this bill to be flushed down the toilet where it belongs.
Any Republican who votes for cloture, who does not filibuster this bill, gives RINOs a bad name.
