Well I am cuprised that he is so out of touch with the base.I'm not. In his interview with O'Reilly he seemed darned proud of it. O'Reilly asked him what he thought of the opinions of him on the internet and blogs and so forth. Pres. Bush grinned and said "Oh, I never read any of that stuff. I usually don't even read the newspapers. Laura reads them and tells me about it."
That's not verbatim from the transcript but I'll bet my memory of it is very close.
