Does anyone our there feel like they have been left out in the cold. I mean while everyone officially that is, Jeb Bush, etc. are signing on to the immigration bill, does anyone feel like there is something we don’t know?

For example, why the heck are they doing this?

I have been flamed all night by some for daring to ask this question.

To some, we are supposed to just believe it is the right thing to do because Bush cares. To question this is unpatriotic.

Be careful for daring to really seek to know why. LOL!

” ...why the heck are they doing this? “

This is what happens when govt. gets in bed with business to raid the public treasury. Business passing off their expenses to the taxpayer.

Someone made a post, I don’t know if it was sarcasm. What about consolidating North America as one country? Perhaps the US and Canada aren't having enough children. Mexico has too many. The US produces jobs. Mexican does not. Goods and people could move freely in the North American union. The southern Mexican border and the northern Canadian border would be easy to defend. It sounds like something an egomaniac (FDR?) would consider. Bush? Who knows? The problem is that people and cultures are not so homogeneous. The chances of destroying the United States are huge. And of course, sneaking and forcing this on Americans (legal Americans of today) is illegitimate.

“For example, why the heck are they doing this?”

Here’s an article that says it is a political miscalculation; a screwball attempt to get more Republican voters:

At first, I believed it was because these guys thought they were doing the right thing... But the continued support for it after being informed only abour 25% of Americans agree, and about 50% totally disagree, leads me to believe that there’s something going on behind the scenes.

There has to be... This defies any sort of logic. Politicians lining up to throw themselves off a cliff... it makes no sense! What don’t we know?
