"He was surprised by the reaction," Mr. Snow said of Mr. Bush's speech in Glynco, Ga., last week. "The speech in Georgia was, 'We've got a serious problem and we need to fix it.' It was not in any way designed to be pointed at Republicans." But conservative opponents of a Senate immigration bill supported by Mr. Bush reacted furiously to the president's suggestion that they are resorting to scare tactics by using the word "amnesty" in referring to the measure that would allow millions of illegal aliens to remain in the United States.

You don’t have to agree with my opinion .. but you also don’t have to tear me down for what I believe.
So buzz off!!
I think we’re doing all we can right now. The only people who are against this bill are those that have to work. Can’t be staging protests in the streets. A tax revolt would be very effective if you could come up with a workable plan.
He may be surrounded by the worse possible advisors someone of leadership can have: “Yes” men and women.
I’d be surprised too if my head was so far up my ass.
New FRord. Time to record it in the dictionary book. Let’s put it on Wikipedia.
We sonservatives dont take kindly to being insulted...
President Bush not only bit the hand that fed him, he bit it off and chewed it up.
Tony Snow Freeps..He would do his boss a big favor if he advised him to read Free Republic.
Yeah, that's true... and Tony Snow would also do his boss a big favor if he showed himself (among others) here to defend this POS bill instead of sending over a bunch of shills...

Good point.
“He was surprised by the reaction”
I don’t believe that for a second. It’s just more BS from this administration.
Bush is to immigration what Clinton is to chastity.
That is exactly right. They don't want to be Americans, they just want to be able to come and go as they wish, fleece our public services and wreck our society.
None will pay "back taxes" (we'll be surprised how many just happened to arrive shortly before Jan 1, 2007). "I've only been here for a couple of months and didn't work. Thank you for my perpetually-renewable visa."
They don't want to become Americans. They want to continue to be Mexicans (or people of whatever foreign country) who cannot be removed from the sovereign nation which they invaded. Allowing their families to do this as well is simply bonus. If this weren't the case, then the "anchor babies" wouldn't be an issue at all.
In fact, I believe with family reunification and visas that, essentially, never expire (who's going to throw them out of the country when they do expire?) then simply sneaking across at nine months will be completely unnecessary.
President Bush reminds me of an absentee father; busy knocking the crap out of the hoodlum downtown while his home is pillaged by his friends.
“If he was truly unaware at our rage on this issue, then either his advisers suck, or hes really blind to his own supporters.”
His supporters are Mexican billionaires and businesses that want to hire foreign nationals. They get the laws that they want.
The American voters who voted for Bush may think they are ‘his supporters’, but if they do they are fooling themselves.
Interesting talk about a tax revolt. Now I have a more clear understanding as to why demonrats insist on taxing the businesses and wealthy so much.
They are but a few people and the rest of us don’t pay that big of percentage of taxes to worry them.
I am interested in this “Where’s the fence” thing as I am just hearing about it tonite. Most of us can do up something like this on our computers and email, fax, etc.
Someone wanna post a big list of email, fax #’s etc. so we cam get started?
Maybe if we sent enough we could “inform” the POTUS of our opinions and the MSM might even mention it twice.
That’s one great post.
What?
I dunno, but they get "cuprised".
“Someone made a post, I dont know if it was sarcasm. What about consolidating North America as one country?”
No, it should be 'stir fried'.
Damm the left that hated your guts for the has six years is all on board with you on Amnesty.....
And the people on the right that have been fight for you..that had your back in the worst of time... an then you stab them in theirs .. and insult them too...
And YOUR surprised by the reaction?!... WTF!!... get a clue....
You Amnesty politicians are Quislings... and will be remember as such
