It’s Fred for me. He sounds the most like the greatest POTUS of my lifetime.

Some more from the same author: “President Thompson. I like the sound of that. For many of us who have viewed the current field of candidates with no particular passion or excitement, the idea that a true social and fiscal conservative could jump into this race as early as tomorrow is breathtaking and downright invigorating.

The former Senator, current movie star is by far the best choice and a sure fired winner who could certainly take all, should he enter the race for ‘08. Fred could get the GOP political wheels moving and the grassroots hopping. Why do we relish the idea of a Fred Thompson run? Because he’s real. He means what he says and backs his words up with action. Not to mention there is no doubt the former Senator could pack a wallop when it comes to wielding political power. Many in red states might even say, militarily speaking that Fred “could “git ‘er done” on the world’s stage.

Fred Thompson is a man of substance and stature. His experience alone brings to our new global community a wealth of knowledge and finesse badly needed when you look at the current crop of GOP hopefuls. All nice guys of course but can any of them excite the masses like Fred Thompson? For those of us on the right, it’s not about being nice in ‘08. It’s about preventing tax increases, sustaining our military, fortifying our borders, and protecting the unborn. It’s about teaching personal responsibility and giving the proverbial hand-up and not a hand out.

I would just about bet that all the yellow dogs sipping coffee on Sunday morning watching the interview with Chris Wallace, expecting Thompson to say “thanks but no thanks” regarding the presidency, just about peed their pants when Fred left the door wide open for a presidential run and all but said, “I’m in.”

He had to generate some mystique, and some anticipation. He had to drop a crumb to all the reporters and even the paparazzi who might salivate at the idea of a Thompson, Clinton showdown for the presidency. Make no mistake. He’s in for real. And it seems like the last time we had a president who had a history with Hollywood, he represented the GOP and the US phenomenally.

Let the online donating, the thousand dollar dinners, and the political parlaying begin. We’ve got us a candidate from Tennessee and unlike Senator Clinton who poorly feigned an affectionate southern drawl last week at an Alabama rally, Fred Thompson’s southern drawl is real. I believe that is just one example that will sum up a presidential race between those two. Genuine vs. disingenuous. The American people aren’t stupid. They’ll know the difference.”

Leadership, and a vision for America .. a potent combination.

It doesn't hurt if you can actually explain your ideas to the point where the American people can understand them. A point that is sadly lacking in today's also rans. Everyone wants to follow a leader, not be told what to do by a bunch of collectivist nannys

If you haven't watched it, here is a video that explains liberals in one go ... Breck Girl on what makes a liberal a liberal. rights and privileges according to the Breck Girl. The idiocy is near the end ...

"Everyone wants to follow a leader, not be told what to do by a bunch of collectivist nannys "

Sir...or madam....ok, sibling FReeper, I PRAY that your view of "everyone" is true, because even among so-called "conservatives", I am seeing more and more demands for gubmint to make their problems go away. Selective demands, to be sure, but demands for the nanny state nonetheless.

Great post.

Ronald Reagan was indeed a great President.

And what FDT shares with RWR is the ability to attract people to what they’re saying.

No other candidate stops me from what I am doing to take time out to see what they’re saying.

When FDT speaks or writes, I feel an urge to go see it. With other candidates, nothing. I know they are going to choose their words to fit the moment. But FDT and his words, thoughts and writings are constant and reassuring.

"But is he too 'lazy' to follow through on an agenda?"

Good question. One which I will answer ONLY if YOU can describe in detail the sound of the color purple.

LOL. He's accomplished more before age 30 than most politicians in their lifetimes.
