[history]
In an event that felt more like a campaign appearance than a book signing, Al Gore's visit to Chicago this afternoon brought the usual speculation about another presidential bid.
"Run, Al, run," some chanted on the third floor of the Borders on State Street, where some of his biggest fans started arriving before sunrise for an event that started shortly before 1 p.m.

I would like to see Al Gore run for president on the Green Party ticket. That would give him a big soap box / ego trip as he campaigns on the dangers of global warming. The Green Party would be ideal for him because he is monomaniacal about the environment. And he would have no chance of winning as a Green, so he would have the best of both worlds in his mind. He would get lotsa news coverage and publicity, and no chance he would have to interrupt his global warming crusade to go live in the White House.

Chicago Tribune material (and other material on the
Excerpt or Do Not Post List) must be excerpted in all circumstances. If the article is shorter, it must be excerpted manually.

If he runs on a third party ticket (Greens?) he’ll be the equivalent of Ross Perot in 1992, insuring that Fred Thompson is the next president. We should do everything we can to insure this stupid move by fat Albert.

Maybe they want him “to run” so he can lose some weight?

Oh, yeah, that was real spontaneous, more spontaneous than "Tipper ROCKS!!! Tipper ROCKS!!!" was at the Democrat National Convention.

When I read the headline, I was hoping to see a story that included some tar and feathers.

He cannot lose any weight if he sits in his room surfing all day.

Excerpting to 90% is not acceptable. Try to shoot for 50% . . . the forum software merely truncates to 300 words, making shorter articles in technical violation of the Settlement.

Well, except for the mouth breathing, ol' Al-bot just looks so darned intelligent, sitting in front of all of them there computer monitors.

Run Al, Run!!
I'll bet that phrase hasn't been heard in Chicago since the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.
To: HarmlessLovableFuzzball
I’ll add my voice to that chorus: Run Al, RUN!

It was probably just one guy with a "Run, Al, run!" bumper sticker.
On the front bumper.

I honestly think Al Gore is about as intelligent as a high-school freshman who wears a Che’ Guevara shirt to school, I’m not kidding either.
Both believe the spoon fed tripe served to them without question or curiosity and are indignant and self-righteous that anyone would disagree with them, surely they’re idiots for not “knowing” what they know.
Al Gore gives hope to narcissistic psuedo-intellectuals everywhere.
