...snip...But I digress. The Giuliani shindig actually made conference call history because something important happened. The campaign announced it would be skipping the Ames Straw Poll. I’m assuming that this news arose not out of a genuine feeling that straw polls are for dorks, but rather because Team Rudy knew it would get creamed. And if Rudy got creamed in Ames, holding onto his media bestowed frontrunner crown would be a large task indeed.

For Rudy, the Ames Straw Poll is one of those “damned if you and damned if you don’t” events.

If you know you’re gonna lose......don’t play.

If you know you’re gonna lose......don’t play.

I hear that's a new option in both the NFL playoffs and the NCAA next year.

According to Associated Press, he plans to skip ALL future straw polls:

Giuliani’s campaign advisers were split on whether to skip the event but ultimately decided against participating in any straw polls anywhere.

Politically, the she-male mayor's staff made the smart call to avoid all straw polls.

But it opens the door for a second-tier candidate to win as Robertson did in '88. In this case, it would be Romney who tromps the IA straw poll.

McQuisling is skipping it too. He found out jihadis and illegals would not be allowed to vote for him.
