As it happens, Nora Ephron’s current husband, Nicholas Pileggi, wrote two books made into decidedly un-chick flicks, Goodfellas and Casino.
Goodfellas was great. I had mixed feelings about Casino. I think by the time it came out, it was just another overly-gritty/edgy mafia flick — kinda boring. Sharon Stone, stretched to her acting limit like an rubber band just about to snap, didn’t make it any better. Joe Pesche was good though — he always is.
