I’m waiting till he officially announces !!!

If everyone waits until he officially announces, it will appear his doesn't have enough support to continue and may never officially announce as a result. It's easy to say on an internet forum that you support him. Making a donation says you're serious. :)

Hula Moola!
Think I’ll start a website. Anyone wanting to give me money can try IAMB9.com (under indefinite construction).
I PROMISE to put it to good use.
Maybe. “;^)

Well, there are other facts that ES may wish to consider, for future reference. For example, how to clean, dress, and prepare crow.

Taking another look at those numbers....you go Fred.

1500 people per hour donated $12000 per hour.....$8 per person.

THAT’s impressive.

“Raised more than $220,000 dollars via the website “

Saw that and raised the pot some more.

Go FRED!!!!!

You either can’t read or you’re intentionally lying ES the 1500 number is how many are signing up as friends not neccessarily making donations.

That's $8 per person who signed up to receive info, not $8 per donation.

Idiot.

ElectricStrawberry wrote: "$220K... is wholly unimpressive these days concerning presidential elections. Hillary, Obama, and Mitt and maybe even Rudy rake in that much every day."

Then Fred is outpacing them because he raised that much in just 18 hours. There are 24 hours in a full day. Plus, the majority of what will be Fred's eventual donors don't even know about the website yet.

I'm guessing that math wasn't your best subject in school...

“On the GOP side, McCain, the presumed front-runner, raised the least of the major candidates ..”

Unfortunately he has the cash of the Coors Heiress he married to line his coffers.

JulieAnnie has his $42M per year law practise.

But we will do our best.

I don't think the dollar amount is as impressive as the excitement of thousands of people who flocked to his site the first day it was up. How many people were waiting to hear the web address for some time, and when they heard it, they rushed immediately over to the site, signed up, donated, and invited friends.

Has there been the same kind of fervor for some of the other candidates?

Enough that the site actually crashed during or shortly after the interview, due to excessive traffic.

I would be one of that 1500 that couldn't make a donation but signed up.

As soon as I have the money it will be going to Fred, but I can't right now.

I agree, ES. "Gnat" is a pretty lame name to call a troll. Rob should have called you "troll" because that's all you do on Fred threads.

Speaks a lot about you that you don't have anything better to do with your life.

The difference being....at least 3 other candidates have proven that they can take in that amount every day...consistantly....and their 2Q numbers are gonna be HUGE. Bill’s giving a speech for Hillary at $2300 per...and I’d bet there’ll be way more than 100 people to hear him. Probably take in 2+ million by entering the room.

....and in my world of stats, one day doesn’t make a “rate”...it makes one data point.

I'm beginning to suspect ElectricStrawman is a a closet Fred supporter who's trying to goad everyone into donating more to Fred.

Good job, ES! I'll go give more just to help you out. :)

I'm sure even you're able to understand the idea that this is not Fred Thompson's only method for raising campaign funds, right? It won't even be his primary method. So comparing the amount of funds he raised on his website to the amount others take in via fundraising dinners + donations from PACs + individual donations is foolish. To say the least.

LOL! It’s going to just kill ES to have to choose between Hillary and Fred in Nov. ‘08, isn’t it?
