"I didn’t watch the debate last night, but I did hear Romney’s response to the Mormon question. Very well done. I think the response was positive because most Americans are affronted when the MSM questions someone’s beliefs (it reminded me of George W Bush’s response in the 2000 debates.)"

The irony of it all is that I think the obsession with the Mormon factor is actually helping Romney. First, because it only gives him more media exposure, and second, because when people see the way that Romney and his family actually live their lives and how Romney graciously conducts himself when he's under pressure or is ridiculed, they realize that all of the attacks on his personal religious beliefs are silly and mundane and they start feeling sympathetic towards him.

Just wait til the media asks him the same question Time Magazine finally got around to asking the Mormon prophet: "Do you believe you become a god?" Folks who have absolutely no idea that this supposed "silly" and "mundane" religious tripe will pause & take note. "What? Mormons believe that? I'm voting for somebody who thinks he is a god or can become one?" (The sympathy factor will be cut out)
