the former Tennessee senator
Comment:
Hey futz, if your going to write a hit piece or malign a person, at least get his title straight.
He is a former Republican Senator who represented the State of Tennessee.

You’ve got that right. I just want a President who speaks straight. I’ve long tired of the double talk and rambling of this current administration. They can’t even stand up for our troops without calling those that malign them Patriots? The religion of peace crap and the stupid diversity comments have soured me on Bush. Conservatives will never win when they speak and play by rules defined by liberals.

The way it reads it sounds as though Fred was a Tennessee state Senator in the Tennessee state legislature.

From the article: “softball interview.”
I saw it & I agree, but has Hillary ever had anything but a “softball interview.”
Double standard: Softball interviews are bad if they are with Conservatives, OK if they are with Liberals.

It is a good, serious book about the need to reconcile these two major factions within the GOP, as Reagan, Bush I and Bush II did, if they hope to win.
He traces the history of the conservative movement and Republican party from WWII to present.
He opines that if either faction gains supremacy, too much is lost from the other faction, to win.
I suspect he interviews Fred with a mind that he is the candidate who can bring both factions in to support him.

It seems like that to many in the MSM make a dirty little habit of going after anyone.

I like the way he is handling his possible campaign. Shows he can play fire with fire and he is not afraid to go up against the loonies.
To: Politicalmom
I thought Thompson was great last night. Hunter was as well. My concern is that Hunter is simply not going to be able to get his name out there enough to wrap up the nomination. Thompson can do that.
My dream is a Thompson/Hunter ticket. It would be like having two Reagans in the White House. Imagine that. :)
