Like Obama, the Fred enthusiasm is based on who he is, rather than anything he has done or is doing. The essence seems to be that FDT has a mostly conservative voting record and boatloads of charisma. A candidate running on the basis of charisma had best be spectacular on TV. I don't think anyone can describe Fred's performance in the softball Hannity interview as spectacular.

If FDT isn't gangbusters on T.V., doesn't work very hard, and doesn't have a great bio or resume, then just what makes us think he is such a great candidate in the very difficult 2008 GOP environment?

What does CNN expect? The questions were stupid, and having Arienna Huffington and Paul Begala on as commentators for a republican debate is beyond stupid — typical CNN.

He reminds me of Larry King. And you're right, his appearance and face recognition are about all he really has going for him.

That and the fact that the MSM is pushing losers like Rudy, Mitt and McCain.

The format for these 'debates" is very slanted toward the "front runners."
