Well, Duncan Hunter just received prominent honorable mention on National Public Radio's 9pm News, just prior to their 'Talk Of The Nation' show around here.

He was the last of only three candidates mentioned in the news clip about the debate.(McCain and Romney were the other two).Hunter was described as favoring the Southern Border Wall("fence",they called it.)And as criticizing the current administration for not building it more and sooner, and having not done more to curtail illegal immigration.

Probably significant when NPR starts to notice Duncan Hunter.

I though Hunter, Romney and Huckabee earned a ticket to the next debate. Maybe yes and maybe no as far as presidential qualities, depends on the issue, but for sure VP qualities. I don't agree 100% with everything they said but have more agreement than disagreement in the overall picture. I also don't see them 'bending over (backwards)' to be liked, as Rudy and McCain have shown me they will do.

As for Rudy and McCain, they will be there since they are the 'heavy weights' of the GOP ... even though they should be gone too. I see them as compromising conservatives and not truly able to lead true conservatives. I've not been overly impressed by them in the past or now.

I wasn't that favorably impressed by the others, on any consistent basis. I think Ron Paul definetly showed he would not protect this country, offensively or defensively. Thompson, Gilmore and Brownback didn't impress me during the other debates and have not risen and to do so now.

The next debates should have fewer debaters, five max but four even better. They should also have some pertinent questions and time to answer and be confronted by the other candidates on stage. Most definetly not CNN/Blitzer or Chrissy Matthews. Some intelligent minds on the questions ... writing them as well as asking them.
