Pakistani villagers shot dead a woman and three men in a public execution after a tribal council found them guilty of adultery, a witness and government officials said.
About 600 people watched the four, including an Afghan refugee, shot to death on Monday in the Khyber agency, a semi-autonomous ethnic Pashtun tribal region on the Afghan border.
"We found a man and a woman in a compromising position along with another man who was drunk and had already committed adultery, and the owner of the house" said Haji Jan Gul, a resident of Alamgudar village, where the four were killed.
"All four confessed to adultery," he said.
A jirga, or traditional council of elders, ordered them killed after considering their case.
An official in the area's administration office confirmed the incident, saying the punishment was carried out in accordance with tribal traditions and authorities did not intervene.
Pakistan's tribal areas are governed by their own laws and age-old customs still hold sway.
Sex out of marriage is a crime in overwhelmingly Muslim Pakistan and punishable by stoning to death under Islamic laws, although that punishment has never officially been meted out.
In March, two men and a woman were stoned and then shot dead for adultery in the same region.
Hundreds of people are killed every year in Pakistan, most in remote backward areas, after being deemed to have dishonoured their families or violated tribal laws.
Coming soon to a suburb near you, courtesy of the dhimmicratic party.
What do they do with swingers, I wonder?
I don’t know about the fate of swingers, but these unlucky four seem to have been in sex as a business rather than “ordinary” adultery.
Wouldn’t those people be the first to go, under such a regime?
I know some of you here are going to react negatively to this. That’s because you’re all a bunch of bigots. Our great wise leader President Bush, and his subordinates, have said as much in the last week.
Bush is all-knowing and wise, so we must all heed his words - “Islam is a religion of peace”.
And remember - Pakistan is our ALLY in the war on terror. Musharraf is our friend - no one is allowed to say he assumed power by declaring himself “president” after a military coup, or that he is a murderous thug. And no sladerous lies that Pakistan harbors Al Qaida terrorists, including Osama Bin Laden. They are our friends.
And remember, fellow Freepers, there is one evil man running for president who keeps repeating these slandarous lies. His name is Ron Paul. At every mention of his name, you must all hiss and boo, call him “crazy”, call him a traitor, call all of his supporters nutbags who don’t have a conservative bone in their bodies, and you must all demand that his voice never again be allowed at any Republican debate.
Bet Pakistan has a low rate of abortion and sexually transmitted diseases. Four casualities seem a low price to pay for stopping the spread of destructive health practices.
.....tough crowd.
Seems that some part of our legal system could be outsourced here...The part right after sentencing???!!
You are kidding, right?
My object so sublime,
Let the Punishment fit the crime,
Let the Punishment fir the crime.
If you can do da time, don’t do da crime.
Barbarians.
Only 4 people committed adultery in all of Pakistan, dontcha know.
Please tell me you are kidding.
They hand out death like we hand out aspirin.
Well whether BW777 is kidding or not, some people would defend such harsh policing of morals. In Third World countries, where life is close to the edge, they just cannot afford the consequences of immorality. Look at the South African “homelands” areas, where family structure has broken down, and incidents like the rape of infants has become common.
In the West, we are engaged in a huge social experiment, which is to encourage promiscuity, and raise a whole generation of children without fathers. What the consequences might be in the long term, is anyone’s guess.
You’re not kidding, read it and weep:

Four executed for adultery in Pakistan
That'll teach them to screw around!
