I should read some more books on the Civil War. I have to read Grant's memoirs, I hear it is one of the best.
I'm a World War II history buff. Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Midway in 1942, the turning point of WWII in the Pacific. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the fall of Rome in 1944.
Gee....I wonder what happened on June 6.....?
LOL! Thanks for the compliment! Sister John Michael was my eighth grade teacher, back in the days when nuns wore the whole garb, head piece, long flowing habit, etc.....Sister John Michael was not one to mess with, if you screwed with her you got the ruler.....you stood at the front of the class, ruler in hand, she stood in the back of the class, as far back as she could go, the object was that you had to crack your knuckles with the ruler LOUD enough for her to hear it in the back of the class through all the material of her head piece, it led to pretty bloody knuckles AND not one parent sued, NOT ONE my FRiend, cuz back then you respected authority, you not only feared your teacher but worse yet, feared what would happen when your parents found out and back then BOTH parents were involved....
Same things true in Northern California. LOL!

LOL, I’ve got a million stories!!! Nuns, alcohol, concerts, old time rockers, hendrix, joplin, santana, etc. name it!!!
I remember one nun’s M.O. was to grab the fleshy part of your underarms and sink her nails into it, another more vicious one liked to smash her knuckles underneath your chin in quick succession, bap-bap-bap!, another one would make you touch your toes while she took a yardstick to your longing buttocks, she would’ve make a good Muslim swordsman, LOL! everyone feared that one.
HOLY crap!!! I grew up with sisters of charity, aka, sisters of torture, sounds like you had a taste of it as well, we had one back in fourth grade? that used to hang us by our collars on the coat hooks in the coat room, misbehave and she would hang you in the closet.....that only happened once, if you weren’t too bright it would happen twice not more than twice though....one caught on fairly quickly! Not pretty to be hanging by your collar, very uncomfortable!

And as Maneesh said, we turned out normal, imagine that! No suing, no charges of abuse, no low esteem, no thing, we respected authority, our parents, our teachers and lo and behold, voila, here we are, better people for having experienced discipline!
