Well, the other way around. The microwave oven converts electricity to heat (there are -many- ways to do that.) This new device converts heat to electricity.

Kinda like nuclear power. Water is pumped in, heated and turned to steam, the steam powers the turbine that creates electric power.
Heat, making power.
