Thompson Sees Fences Between Congress, Voters

RICHMOND -- Former Sen. Fred Thompson yesterday said there is a giant disconnect between voters and politicians in Washington and that the immigration bill is the chief reason. Speaking to Virginia Republicans, Mr. Thompson, who is considering a run for president, drew a standing ovation when he said voters don't believe Washington politicians when they claim they are trying to secure the border as part of the bill. "You've got to secure the border first, before you do anything," he said. "The members say it's right here in this bill: the border. The response is, 'We don't care what's on a piece of paper -- secure the border.' This piece of paper doesn't secure the border."

Thompson gets the point. I'm hoping he can convince some of the RINOs.

Pro-amnesty RINOS such as McCain and Guiliani must be running scared with Thompson entering the race.

They are, they are, they are scared to death of FDT. And they should be.

What can you say? He’s right, senators like McCain and Chambliss did manage to finally build a wall, huh?

All of the other Republicans with the exception of Giuliani & McCain need to drop their campaigns and get behind Thompson. Hunter can be Thompson's Secretary of Defense. Paul can advise Thompson on domestic issues. Romney can be his campaign organizer and economic advisor. Tancredo can be his immigration advisor. Gilmore & Tommy Thompson should just support Fred. Then Fred Thompson should pick Mike Pence for VP.

Giuliani and McCain can take a hike.

Fred represents the interests of the American people...totally opposite from the proponents of this amnesty nightmare. He also sees the “RED STORM RISING” between the American public and the Congress....the arrogance of these pols blinds them to what this is going to cost them and this country.

He touched on his service with Virginia's senior Republican, Sen. John W. Warner, noting the two had fought together in the Senate to try to keep key military technology away from China.

Something for you to consider.

Simple truth and the integrity to communicate it vs. let’s see how many trillion dollars we can give you as a handout for your vote - hopefully will win the day ... if not - bend over and spread your cheeks - you know the rest.

If Thompson were to say, “If you elect me president, I will deport every illegal alien now in this country.” he’d win by a landslide.

He's right about that. Our elected representatives are out of touch and out of their minds for ignoring us. The next thing that I want them to be out of, is out of a job!

Giuliani and McCain can take a hike.

Preferably in the Arizona desert in July.

Not that simple. If this bill passes they won’t be illegal any more. Everyone in the country will be legal the second the bill is signed by Bush.

RINOs? I’m hoping he can convince the conservatives who are acting like they can’t do anything about this.
