"Nothing here you dont already know. But its nice to hear a high-profile Republican say it."

Haven’t been too pleased with Newt as of late what with him kissing up to the clintons and what not but he is at least on the right track here.
Yep
As I have posted in other threads on immigration, even the 12 million number was a total guess by somebody in D.C. and was not even remotely based on any factual data. About a month or two ago, I read an article (I had thought by one of the founders of the Minuteman) who had worked with one of the think tanks to attempt to derive a better number. His estimate was between 35 and 55 million.
But the scary part about this amnesty bill is how it expands the number of illegals whatever the number. Let’s assume for discussion that the number is as low as 20 million...watch what happens under this bill.
In 1986 just less than 3 million illegals were granted an amnesty (US citizenship); they each brought up on average 5 more family members who also instantly became US citizens, so 3 million X 5 = 15 million + the original 3 mil = 18 million. Now consider the 20 million that have come up since 1986 get amnesty under this new bill, and they haul up 5 more each: 100 million + that 20 = 120,000,000. And what if the existing number is 50 million, the new total will become 250+50=300 million new neighbors. Now consider where they fall economically? At the bottom, unlike legal immigration where we now expect something of value, these illegals bring nothing but 3rd grade educations and the trappings of a failed culture, like grafiti and 3rd world diseases.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TO AMNESTY!!!!
If you want to be depressed, check out the percentages of illegals occupying jail/prison space... or go to any large town emergency room. Our middle class cannot sustain what we have, much less the influx.
And they don’t like us and don’t want to be like us.
We should rebuild the grassroots conservative movement. From the Reagan Revolution of 1980 through the Contract with America in 1994, it was this movement from outside Washington that carried us to the first center-right majority governing coalition in more than 60 years. The problem has not been with conservatism or with our voters.
The problem has been with Republican leaders who forgot who elected them and what values their supporters expected to see implemented in Washington.

Excellent video. This is a must-watch.
Ping the pings, people!

100 million peasants who have a ghetto culture(which they quickly adopt here), high crime, diseases, and these days, a BAD ATTITUDE!!
He acts as though Illegals are all here to work, and if you take that opportunity away they will go home or not come here.
He certainly must be aware that our prisions are full of illegals who commited crimes here. - Tom
Considering the attitude of some Americans, can they really be blamed?
Excellent video!
I support the amnesty bill. Its the best thing for the country.

Middle class? America cannot survive this invasion. We will cease to exist before to long, I am afraid.
I say to you,
Yes, they CAN be blamed. They are here illegally, they are criminals, they spit at us, our laws, our way of life and, in general, only wish to sponge off the taxpayers.
Go to the SoCal-Mex border. What you will see is a milelong line of non-Americans waiting their chance to get here. Why? Because Mexico is a broken state, a hell hole.
You think they are just wishing to be here to work? Sponsor some, board them in your home, maybe a few MS-13 types just to make it initeresting. Yeah, I blame them.
After you posted that reference, I went through that punk’s posting history. He seems to advocate or is resigned to surrendering our country to Mexico, and for the Republicans to accept this reality and attempt to corner the Hispanic vote.
He’s only been around since 11.06, so I think he’s either a troll or a retread that got the ZOT some time in the past. Either way, he really seems to dislike conservatives.
Interesting that She/He/IT doesn’t engage in much conversation either. ... just posts some talking points and moves on to another thread...
I live in small resort community that was 95% white base several years ago. Our elementary school is now mostly hispanic and the moms that walk the kids to school all have 2or3 kids under tow that aren’t even in school yet. I know what you mean. I grew up in Anaheim, CA and my new Presbyterian church was the most beautiful one in a town with only a few hundred hispanics. My church is now a Mexican church and my culture has been long gone...
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American... There can be NO divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but ONE flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Theodore Roosevelt 1907
