Great stuff, Kabar had some excellent links on population trends due to illegal immigration last week really eye opening. This is as well.

20 years ago I looked at my real estate tax bill and saw a line item for "McHenry (IL) County TB Clinic". I called the county and asked why we were funding a clinic for a disease that was basically out of business in this country, let alone northern Illinois.

The response I got from the person who took the call was along the lines, "It's basically gone now from here, but we would rather have to reactivate something like that rather than start from scratch if it makes a comeback."

And how often do you get an intelligent, thought out plan from any level of government? Little did I know back then how smart that was.
