DD is the Navy Designation for a Destroyer. The “G” on the end indicates it carries guided missiles.

DDG is a Guided Missile Destroyer. Nice ships but the newest ones do not have a Phalanx any more. Dumb move in my opinion, but still as the gunny says “a boatload of kick a$$.”

PIVC in medicine is, I believe, actually more commonly referred to as a PIC line. It is an arterial “gateway” for dispensing meds right into the circulatory system. Usually placed on/in the Femoral artery.

Or are you talking of something else?
