Socialism is all about making sure the poor stay poor, and that there aren't any private corporations.

That's very close to how I view it...and how I view Hillary's intentions -- she isn't interested in taking wealth away from those rich who are friendly to her. She is interested in cementing in the current elite and wealthy so that they never have to compete for their power, position and status. What she wants, and what socialism does, is not eliminate the [friendly] wealthy -- it prevents economic and social mobility. No one who is not now rich can ever become rich. If you are a "peasant" you stay a peasant. No matter how hard or smart you work...there's nothing there. Those who are [friendly] rich, never lose their status. It's very, very like Fascism. And it's not very different from Monarchical systems either.

Hitlery makes socialism sound so good to the stupid. Perhaps one thing might wake them up: Socialism means RATIONED health care, and long, long lines at the doctor’s. It means long, long lines at the food stores as well.

I agree. Systems like Fascism, Monarchies, Totalitarianism, etc. all have one thing in common. They depend on a ruling class of elites, and a permanent underclass of plebs.

Private businesses that can grow into companies and then corporations are the life-blood of Democracies. Those of us who didn't do that might have been lucky enough to buy stock in one. But for sure, killing off businesses is a death sentence.
