What this blatant Bush defiance of the American people tells me is he’s desiring to lay one more gigantic screwing to the Conservative base which has rightly confiscated his misappropriated and abused political capital.

I would extend that thought to the psychological realm to say everything he has done has been in search of approval from Daddy Bush. Specifically, it appears from his actions that the current president believes that Perot's NAFTA warnings spirited away those voters that could see what the Bush family was about early in the game, thus costing Daddy Bush a second term. This amnesty bill is the big payback to Republican Perot voters of 1992.

And let's don't even get started down Michael Moore territory on the revenge for Daddy Bush to put Saddam's neck in a noose...
