“FITNA - GIMF has a ten step program to restore jihadi confidence in Hamas”
NEW YORK Had someone else stumbled upon an envelope stuffed with almost $12,000 cash in a New Jersey restaurant, this story might have turned out differently.
Luckily, it was Yousry Desooky who found the missing wad.
The 16-year-old was dining at La Fiesta Buffet in West New York, N.J., Saturday afternoon when he found a beat-up envelope on the floor of a bathroom stall.
"I kicked it to move it. It was heavy, so I picked it up,'' the teen said.
The words "For Tahir. 11,875" were written on one side, and when the teen looked inside, he found a thick stack of hundreds and twenties.
But keeping the cash was never an option.
"I took it, I called my dad,'' Yousry said.
The teen's father, Abdelaziz Desooky, said they were never tempted to keep the cash, since doing so would have gone against their Muslim precepts. First they asked around to find out if anyone had dropped the envelope, then they left a note with the restaurant in case the rightful owner returned.
Sure enough, Guessoum Tahir of Brooklyn came back looking for his lost money.
"I'm the careless guy," Tahir joked Tuesday .......
Funny, I wouldn't be "careless" about $12,000. Smells fishy to me.
The minute I saw the words “for Tahir”, I’d be going to the FBI
How interesting.
Thank you Jelly Jam.
It’s good to know, that he returned the money to the owner.
Same here. Suspicious minds think alike. :-)

Mauritania: Five Al-Qaeda Suspects Arrested In An Internet Cafe
Nouakchott, 26 June (AKI)
The recent arrest of five al-Qaeda suspects in an internet cafe in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott is the latest signal that the terror network is increasingly favouring the Web to recruit operatives and to communicate with its various cells in Africa, Arabic daily al-Watan reports. The suspects - two Algerians, two Moroccans, and Mauritanian - were arrested on Sunday during raids of three Internet cafes close to the Palestinian embassy carried out by Mauritanian anti-terror police, the paper said.
The five suspects are members of the Al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb - formerly the GSPC (the Algerian Salafite Group for Preaching and Combat) - and had recently entered Mauritania, according to police. Their role was to plan and carry out an attack in Noakchott on behalf of the group and also recruited several locals to the jihadi cause.
The GSPC pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda last year and changed its name to the Al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb in January.

Reports: Australian Boxing Champ Arrested in Northern Lebanon
Beirut, 27 Jun 07, 07:29
An Australian boxing champion who left Sydney abruptly weeks ago is one of four men being held in Lebanon on suspicion of terrorist activity, reports said Wednesday. Undefeated super featherweight Ahmed Elomar, 24, used the name ‘Trigger’ in the ring, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Elomar suddenly stopped training and fled Sydney two weeks ago, his father Abu Ahmed told The Australian newspaper.
“He went to Lebanon for a holiday against my wishes,” he said.
“I knew it is the wrong time to travel and the wrong place. But I couldn’t physically stop him,” he said.
Elomar is the nephew of Mohamed Ali Elomar, who was charged along with eight other men with plotting a terrorist act in Australia in 2005.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs was unable to confirm the identity of the men arrested near the port city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon last week and said it had not yet been granted consular access.
Foreign Minister Alexander Downer has said Lebanese officials had told their Australian counterparts that the men would not be able to receive consular visits until they had been formally charged.
The Australian newspaper also reported that another national, former Sydney taxi driver Omar Hadba, may have been the owner of a Tripoli workshop found stacked with weapons and explosives on the weekend.

At Least 2 Men with Danish Ties Arrested in Northern Lebanon
Beirut, 26 Jun 07, 12:55
A Danish national and a man with a residence permit in Denmark are among alleged Islamic militants arrested in northern Lebanon in recent weeks, the Foreign Ministry in Copenhagen said Tuesday.
Lebanese troops arrested the two men in late May in the northern port city of Tripoli, said Lars Thuesen, head of the Danish Foreign Ministry’s consular department.
It was not clear on what grounds they were being held, Thuesen said, adding that Danish authorities had requested information about the arrests from Lebanon.
Danish authorities also were investigating reports that a third man with Danish ties was arrested Sunday during fights in Tripoli between Lebanese troops and alleged Islamic extremists, Thuesen said.
