Most is from Stephen Oppenheimer's book, Origin's Of The British. Or, Bryan Sykes Book, Saxons, Vikings And Celts

The speculation about the R2 line is pretty much mine.

Oppenheimer says that 85% of the Brits have ancient R1b DNA that came with the original wave of folks (R1b's) from the Iberian refuge. The contribution of later waves (18) of R1b's is minor. Not to mislead you, there were other haplogroups early in the British Isles, 'V's, U5's and etc. but, they were sprinkled thinly.
