All we really required was a little less burden...some relief if you will. We put all our cards on the table for the GOP. We believed them to be for less taxes(maybe no remarkable increase, but just try to buy some gas and a gallon of milk,) less govt intrusion in our lives (we got the "patriot act" sniffing through our bank accounts,) a smaller govt( we got yet more bureaucrats and a whole new dept called "Homeland inSecurity",) anti abortion (no significant changes there,) pro gun rights (fine, but someone please take Dick Cheney's gun away from him,) pro Constitution(there's a rumour out there regarding our constitution and our President.... I continue to hope and pray it ain't so,) pro national security (yes Mr. GOP, that means secure borders,) anti welfare state(no remarkable changes here either,) and anti gay rights (not anti gay, just keep it private without demanding special privileges thank you,) ...I could go on but you get the picture...
Think we got snookered?
Yup.
We can't put all of the blame on the politicians. We too willingly put far too much credence in what politicians say during election campaigns and not near enough on what they have done repeatedly over their careers. If you would vote for a politician just because they suddenly tell you what you want to hear you deserve the consequences.
