Bush obviously doesn’t understand (or maybe he doesn’t care) that if he signs this amnesty bill he’ll be hated by *everybody*.Hated by RATS for being the worst “war criminal” to ever have walked the earth...and hated by Republicans for the breathtaking and irreparable damage he will have done to this society.

As President Bush’s approval rating has been stuck below 40 because of the Iraq war, why can’t we have a new poll taken this week. Under 20 guaranteed!

The nation’s immigration system is broken. The Senate bill is not amnesty. He wants a bill on his desk to sign. And Bush continued to challenge lawmakers, asking them to have the “courage” he said it would take to pass the Senate bill.
:::::
Sorry Mr. Bush, we know what your agenda is...and it is very un-American, very anti-soverignty, and very pro-North American Union...a sorry scene when the President has to lie to the American public to push through a piece of disasterous legislation to suit some arrogant utopian agenda. Courage to pass a “GOOD FOR AMERICA” bill? Why would it take courage? To go against the American people — that is what would that COURAGE.

Bush said to the group of lobbyists from immigrant, labor, business and clergy organizations. "

And not one person opposed to illegal immigration is represented at the White House. At least he's been clear throughout his administration that 90% of us aren't welcome or deserve representation.

Maybe it's all an act so that the 2008 candidates can distance themselves from him? Either that or he's mad at us!

“The president’s message was the same as it has been for weeks: The nation’s immigration system is broken. The Senate bill is not amnesty. He wants a bill on his desk to sign. And Bush continued to challenge lawmakers, asking them to have the “courage” he said it would take to pass the Senate bill.”

I think that someone forgot about the part where he says that anyone who questions this bill in any way is, by definition, a racist.

I have lived through about seven Presidents, and I have never seen one WORK AGAINST AMERICA LIKE THIS GUY. I cannot believe this is happening. This man is crazy. And to go against the will of the people like this, behind our backs for the main part, covertly engineering this disasterous situation....this man represents the Mexicans and the Mexican government. He certainly does not represent the United States and its patriotic citizens.

Still clueless (or part of the plot) that he's going for the trifecta:
1. Destroying the GOP
2. Surrendering the USA to Mexico and folks that will invade across
any border
and
3. Assuring Socialistic-Democratic one-party rule of the whatever the
USA becomes for our chidren's children's children.

Folks,

I understand that amnesty is being defined as any punishment for illegal presence in the country that is not, or does not include, deportation.

Fine. Understood.

But what comes next? The position of “get them all out first, and then we’ll talk about what comes next” doesn’t work. Why? Because of the reality in the US that equals that of Japan and most of Europe — there there are not enough working age people in the country to provide a workforce. That is period and full stop. There simply are not enough working age people in the US — even with the illegals.

So if they are all deported, what do you do to have an economy for the months or years it will take to define “what comes next?” The waving of the hand and talking about all the people waiting to come to the US from Europe also doesn’t work because if the US is seen to be draining working age people from those countries, those countries will simply offer monetary incentives for them to stay put.
Is the US going find itself also offering money? Does it make any sense to bid in an auction for people who are not US citizens?

So what comes next? If you get full scale deportation, how does GNP growth stay north of negative 10% for the months or years it takes to define “what comes next?”

Wow! Just how out of touch can someone be? I think it is treason myself.

It's not treason for a President to support policies which he considers in the nation's best interest. This includes ones which may not be popular at the time.

He is also against abortion and for Christ which are in opposition to a majority of American citizens' opinions. Yet from the right...(crickets chirping).

“I feel passionate about the issue,’’ said Bush...
::::
His arrogant elitism has kept him from wondering how the REAL AMERICAN CITIZENRY feels about this travesty...

I hope this issue gets delayed until the 2008 presidential election -— this should be argued and EXPOSED there. This bill is so loaded with nasty little gotchas, it has to be exposed.

"...I strongly believe it's in the nation's interest for people here in Washington to show courage and resolve and pass a comprehensive immigration reform.''

Unfortunately, the "nation" he's talking about is Mexico.

Still waiting for him to use the term "United States"...

"This bill isn't amnesty,'' Bush said

He's a liar!

Anybody who says this isn't amnesty is a liar.
