I don’t think people understand how pro-American shiek Sattar actually is. He is as pro-American as Talibani and he is smart too. He could be our Sunni Talibani if we keep backing his movement.

I cannot help but agree fully with your conclusions. Sattar could very well enter the political fray with so much future support that he may get voted into some top leadership position in due time.
Perhaps I am being very pre-mature, but I think the tide has turned to the point where free thinkers in Iraq with some or a lot of power can start to rebuild Iraq into something far greater then it was prior and during the butcher's reign.
The oil issue simply cannot be ignored. The biggest carrot for peace and prosperity in Iraq is sitting under their soil.
I sense this Shiek understands Iraq could become the jewel of the ME. Alongside Israel, a complete model of independent governance as well as a becoming a solid industrialized nation. In short. The hell with the 7th century cult and in with the modern western style of governance and social responsibilities.
