The Missing Link?

SULAIMANIYA, Iraq—With a purple scrunchie in his pony tail, a black cap, and a platoon of blazing white teeth, Abdullah Rahman al-Shamary looks like a failed rock star. And in a way, he is.

Under Saddam Hussein, al-Shamary could go anywhere and do anything. He was a “made man,” and was an officer in its feared Mukhabarat General, an intelligence service run by Saddam’s son, Qusay. And, Qusay oversaw the Mukhabarat’s relationship with Jund al-Islam, an al Qaeda wing operating in Northern Iraq before the 2003 American invasion.

For the past five years, al-Shamary has languished in a prison outside this provincial Kurdish city. Still he is relaxed and in high spirits today. It makes him feel good to talk about the old days; he smiles as he talks.

So far, he told me, he hasn’t talked to any Americans. No CIA officers, no military intelligence officials, no congressional investigators, no journalists. This is a strange omission because if al-Shamary’s information checks out, he was one of several human links between Saddam’s regime and al Qaeda. He could be the missing link.

Abdullah Rahman al-Shamary grew up Mosul, a fading industrial melting pot—like Detroit. He was recruited into the intelligence service based on his grades and his size—he still moves with a athlete’s grace. He rose to the rank of lieutenant in the Mukhabarat General and worked as a security officer for Hussein Kamel, the director of the Special Security Apparatus. Not coincidentally, Kamel was also the son-in-law of Saddam Hussein. He first met Qusay, through Kamel, in 1987. ...[snip]

Should we infer that Veep Cheney hasn’t gotten around to torturing this fellow, yet?

Bush is probably afraid that the Left will free him as another of their ‘causecelabres.’ Where oh where is Jack Bauer when we need him? Look, Bush and the Admin. has so fouled up this war that now that it looks a bit better on the ground, they may never get around to dealing with this connection. Too bad because it could help our military and also the electoral process in ‘08.

Thanks to the awesome power of the Internet, the record could be checked and updated correctly. I stand by the rest of the article and, if anything, Schanzer’s piece supports mine. The bigger question: Why wasn’t al-Shamary’s story on the front pages of every major paper?

BUMP!

There is something else missing from this story that links it up to the real power behind al-Qaeda; and that is al-Zawahiri. He was identified by Alexandr Litvinenko, the KGB/FSB agent who was poisoned last November in London, as a KGB/FSB agent. So we now can be reasonably sure that Putin is behind this al-Qaeda mess. And with the recent racheting up of tension between the US and Putin we can see what is really going on.

Litvinenko said that the Russians want to use al-Qaeda to destablize US and then they will ATTACK!

Well one does have to wonder what straw would break the Russian back for them to decide that they entered the ‘final’ phase for them to be the literal attackers upon US? They have over the past 100 + years used many many peoples to gain superiority over US. Saddam/alQaeda/Iran are only the latest fronts to seek our destruction. I can’t help but be reminded of that shoe pounding Soviet leader claiming the destruction would come from within.... maybe the mass invasion is but one of many avenues being orchestrated.

Mitroikin walked out of the once Soviet Russia with thousands of names and dates about the KGB. He has written two books which detail the KGB activities in the world since 1922.

It would follow the KGB/FSB pattern to have agents in our government, as they DID under FDR and have ever since according to Mitroikin, and these agents could easily be influencing what we see happening over immigration.

The books are available in most public libraries:KGB; The Sword and The Shield....KGB; When THings WEre GOing OUr Way.

There is no doubt that the deception runs deep within this nation about the intent of the supposed formerly Soviet empire. Of course the deception is sown from within and without. Thank you dear Heavenly Father for your saving, protecting, and blessing Hands.

Litvinenko wrote a book, Burning Down Russia in 2002. I read an interview that he gave before he died in which he outlined several of the KGB trained operatives. Among them was Saddam Hussein and al-Zawahiri. I am looking for that interview as someone on one of these threads gave it to me in a post.

But the story was supported by an article in THe New American in their Jan 22,2007 issue entitled PUTIN'S RUSSIA

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006

Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews

A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia.

The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us,

Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.
