I think Quayle was set up and duped into doing that stunt for the spelling bee. The liberal press was doing everything they could do to stop Bush/Quayle. They succeeded, too.
You would think three computer companies would have been able to spell check.

Quayle’s mistake: he was deliberately setup by left-wing administration / followers at gummit school and his staff not smart or observant enough to catch it.

And the rest of the story if you recall is that the Vice President ASKED the skool staff if the cards were “checked” and he was told they were. Rather than dishonor the skool staff he took the heat at the time.

OTOH: I get more and more angry every week when watching the “crawl ribbon” under the faces on the TV and the spelling errors are just awful. On ABC Good Morning one day, they spelled Diane Sawyer’s name wrong, and it was wrong for the entire 2 hours of the show. The kind of money people get paid in the “entertainment and news” business is apalling when they cannot do such a simple thing as spell.
A newly hired traveling salesman named Gooch wrote his first report to the home office. It stunned the brass in the Sales Department because it was obvious that the new man was illiterate. Here is what he wrote:
Deer Bos,
I hav seen this owtfit wich aynt nevr bawt a dimz wurth uv nuthin frum us an I sol them a cuppl hunred thowsan dolars of gudz. I am now goin to chicawgo tommorrow.

The Sales Manager was fearful if he did, and fearful if he didn’t fire the illiterate. He dumped the problem in the lap of the president.
The following morning the staff in the ivory tower was amazed to see the two letters posted on the bulletin board, and this memo from the president:

Notice the final parenthesis. Quayle (sic) was reading off a flash card, where the final (E) indicated that one inserted an E when pluralizing. He prompted a student giving a response for an unnecessary (E). His confusion was perfectly understandable for someone not familiar the stoopid flash cards. The LSM just couldn't pass up the opportunity to make him look bad. And Qua(y)le, unlike you, did not have spel chequer available to him.
Perhaps it was a setup. Perhaps it was simply incompetence by the educators. We all know they have trouble with spelling. Quayle was the John Edwards of his generation, but in the wrong party without media fawning over him.
Probably, but on the other hand, she was telling these Silcon Valley whores what they wanted to hear.
Folks, read the story! The Hildebeest was there to say that she supports H1B visas to allow more foreigners to come here to take American jobs. Spelling errors are the least of "what's wrong with this picture."
I see ‘insure’ and ‘ensure’ butchered daily. The ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ mistake is fairly rampant, as well.
Oh yeah, while I’m on a rant, there is no letter ‘a’ in the word ‘definitely.’
I’m certainly not perfect, but these are super-basic.
fashion-wise, she’s not much of an accessorizer, but i must admit the misspelling matches well with the the bar-exam failure (also buried or ignored by DeMSM)
