Something that’s never discussed very much:
The gifts that college faculty receive from Saudis and their co-religionists. The rumors I’ve heard concerned grade adjustments: 10 points was worth quite a bit in the way of rewards, and a refusal could undermine a career.
I’m not saying that’s what’s going on here; I’m just wondering if it may be.
