How much noise does a guinea pig make? Was it a normal one or a South German screaming guinea pig?
A lady friend told me she had a guinea pig as a child and for whatever reason it made far more noise at night than in the day. As she put it, really loud noises at night.
They squeal and whistle quite loudly really, hence the "pig" part of their name. However they are diurnal, so one ought to be sleeping at night.
I don't know if they are afraid of the dark or not, but they seem to make a lot of noise at night. Perhaps the bricklayer should have tried a nightlight.
It probably banged around in its cage a lot.
Most of the small caged pets rustle around a bit at night, something you get used to after a short while of owning them. Not sure if guinea pigs are one of the nocturnal types tho.
They are also one of the more vocal small pets...they have a very distinctive, hmm how to explain this, almost whistling squeal. It’s not loud but it’s a very unusual sound and seems to have about the same variation and uses as a cat’s meows.
