He talked about it as Governor of Texas. As for calling it "amnesty," it's a matter of semantics.

Words mean something. He wanted a guest worker program. He never ran on amnesty and is trying to distance himself now from that word. Bush and the rest of the open border types know that the American people are overwhelmingly against AMNESTY. Bush also said he would secure the border. Six years later and more than five years after 9/11, the border has not been secured. He has built 11 miles of single fence after the October 2006 Secure Fence Act was passed authorizing 854 miles of double fence.

Bush has been duplicitous on immigration and this Orwellian Newspeak has no one fooled.

I sounds like you are agreeing that you knew all along that Bush was for open borders -- regardless of the semantics. So we do agree on that.
