Yes I know that. I am from Texas. He was for amnesty when he was Governor. They way to have stopped him was to keep a Republican majority in both Houses. Since that is not the case, obviously, amnesty shall become law. I am against it. I am just surprised that so many are surprised that with a Republican minority that amnesty would not pass.

Where has anyone expressed surprise? Bush Admin officials were almost giddy about the prospect of passing shamnesty when the GOP lost last November.

I really don't know whay point you are trying to make here. You've already admitted that swing voters, not conservatives, are the reason the GOP lost in November. Your point about Bush being for shamnesty all along undermines your initial premise. So do us a favor. If you're just here to rag on Bush opponents, do it some other time when Bush isn't trying to screw the country and the GOP.
