I think the debate will be intense...but civil between them.
I think you’ll see McCain be the first one to try and go negative against him.
IMHO Capt. Queeg will feel “betrayed” by Thompson.

And The Politico reported Wednesday that Thompson told a group of financial backers on Tuesday that he is going to run and had already raised millions of dollars. Thompson is encouraging more support as he readies his campaign in the crowded field of Republican candidates.
The Politico also reports that a number of staffers to former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush are expected to join Thompson’s campaign.
If the former Reagan staffers include Deevers and either Regan or Meese...you’ll know that Fred has the blessing of the keepers of the Reagan flame.

The immigration threads are something els we have people saying Bush, should resign or be impeached and Bush is doing everything he can do to get Hilliary Clinton elected all kinds of stuff.

That is great news! But, now it is open season for the MSM to start their smear campaign against Thompson. Want to take bets on how soon the negative articles will appear? My guess is they have been researching Thompson for a long time and are ready to unload a ton of dirt on him. Want to bet that we will soon learn about past relationships or that sort of thing?

I think President Bush is wrong on this, but the knee jerk reactions some people are having are way off base as well..

He has...but as was also pointed out earlier...he’s also been quiet on most everyone...except McLame and Ron Paul.
He and Levin both have been fairly quiet about who they’d support.
The only one out there really shilling for anyone is Hannity.

Not to mention folks ‘assuming’ Bush’s reasoning for this.. IMHO (and yes, I’m assuming too.. :-> )
This is about keeping Mexico from falling to the Chavez/Castro influence & also avoiding an even greater collapse of their economy (which would effect us by causing more illegal immigration & opening the door for communists to move in..)
..but, that’s just my opinion..
