When someone comes up with a jet than can carry 500+ people on two engines, the airlines will buy it. But I just don't see a super jumbo on less than three engines, and neither does Boeing or Airbus. And those 500+ aircraft are going to dominate long range routes, especially the US to Asia and Europe to Asia routes.
