People actually yearn for this man. It's like the Left has finally discovered the liberal Ronald Reagan. Now THAT'S scary...shades of David Koresh, Jim Jones....

Well, if it’s in the papers, it just has to be true! Doesn’t it?

Oh, yes. Barry O’Bama is definitely a “rock star.” If anything, your description of his appearance as the Second Coming was restrained — it was a political Beatlemania (Barrymania? O’Bamania?)
One can easily see the source of David Ehrenstein’s “Obama the Magic Negro” comment: O’Bama is such a ‘tabula rasa’ that the Left is busily impressing upon him all their wishes, hopes and fantasies. An impossibly tall order ...

After Sunday’s “performance”, I officially take back anything I may have said about Bill Richardson. The man has no business being elected Bernalillo County dogcatcher.
I don’t know *what* I was thinking. Mea maxima culpa.

It's like the Left has finally discovered the liberal Ronald Reagan. Or, to use another analogy, the early 21st Century's John F. Kennedy, except that his wife is nowhere near as attractive as Jacqueline Kennedy was.

Don’t remember what you had to say before, but yes you are correct he has no business being elected Bernalillo County dogcatcher or anything else. I think the only reason he has gotten this far is that he is Hispanic and a lot of Hispanics will close their eyes and vote for him. The other is that he has avoided real debates and take few questions when giving speeches. This allows him to look and sound good with little substance.

You’re forgiven. Unfortunately there are several voters here who have been taken in by “Governor Rutabaga” as another FReeper has dubbed him.

His interest in Richardson stems from the fact that the governors Railrunner commuter rail startup out of Albuquerque was the cheapest in North America. That may be true, but for New Mexicans it's a half-billion dollar boondoggle that will never make 10% of fare recovery let alone pay for itself. That money could better be spent improving the road transportation system, especially that part adjacent to the RR that hasn't been updated since construction in the late 1960's/early 70's. The entire 50+ mile system carries a max of 2,500 passengers per day. Read all about the boondoggle here:

All I can say is thank God for Trump! Without him we don't even have hope. We see where the dirty dems have gone and where they want to go and no one in their right mind would vote for any of that.

Didn't know if you saw this:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/09/just-former-governor-new-mexico-bill-richardson-dead/ ,p> Former Democrat New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson passed away at the age of 75.
According to the Richardson Center for Global Engagement, Richardson died in his sleep on Friday night.
Richardson served as Governor from 2003-2011. He previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations in 1997 and as U.S. Secretary of Energy from 1998-2001. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983-1997.

Here is the delicious irony. The "Hubert Humphrey" Democrat who got me into that Richrdson event in 2007 is now an "ultra-MAGA" Republican.

I was surprised to see that he died. In the long run, he accomplished so little that actually mattered.
