Ophelia Ford suing senate for ousting her after special election (Moonbat Update)

State Senator Ophelia Ford is refusing help from her family. Some of her family members went to Nashville to pick up the state senator.

This comes after after several incidents including a fall off a bar stool and an accusation of assaulting a cab driver.

Ford's brother, Shelby County Commissioner Joe Ford says she needs to go to rehab. Ford insists she doesn't have a drinking problem.

Meanwhile, Senator Ford is involved in a suit that could cost you tens of thousands of dollars.

She's suing the senate for ousting her following a special election where some dead voters had cast ballots.

Ophelia Ford is absent more than she's present in Nashville and when she does make it she's the most expensive lawmaker.

Even though she's the senator from District 29, she's still suing the senate over a disputed special election 13 months ago.

"It has to do with how the senate treated her and the procedures that they used to call for a new election," says Ford attorney David Cocke.

Cocke says a status hearing next month will determine how to go forward with this litigation.

Cocke adds, "the lawsuit continues based on principle it has in many respects nothing to do with Ophelia Ford as an individual it just her office and the election."

When John Ford resigned facing corruption charges a special election in the fall of 2005 had Ophelia Ford winning by 13 votes.

But an investigation uncovered 12 improper ballots that had dead people casting votes for Ophelia, a Democrat.

The Republican led senate nullified the election and voted to remove Ford. She sued 13 months ago but she's back in office because she won another election.

Her lawsuit continues with her attorney asking the state to pay legal fees.

"We've got an application in for over 100,000 related to the first lawsuit," explains Cocke.

Over 100,000 - a costly bill she's asking Tennesseans to pay -- something a judge will decide.

Ford's attorney says his client's health may be a factor in whether or not to follow through with this case.

including a fall off a bar stool

Ms. Ford has missed a good opportunity here. She hasn't sued the state for not requiring seat belts on bar stools.

She was ousted for cheating and yet still won another election? Geez, and I thought DC was full of idiots for reelecting Marion Barry.

The voters in these places are typical Democrats. They don't give a rat's behind about corruption or fraud or anything else except "free stuff" and government "jobs".

Ford insists she doesn't have a drinking problem.

LOL! - Hey, I drink, I fall down. - No problem.

Marion Berry is originally from Memphis. We have so much stupidity here, we can export it and still stay stupid!

this sentence if found in her Wikipedia write-up:

Ms. Ford has been absent from her legislative seat for most of the current session owing her absences to anemia.

i've heard the anemia excuse many, many times during my working-outside-the-home days... always from flaky employees...

The TN Ford family sure does have some shady characters over there in the Memphis area.

Sen. Ford obviously needs professional help. If I happen to see her here in Nashville I'll give her a ride to the doctor.
