Ron Paul stands for what the current GOP should be doing but isn't.

Of all the Republicans, Paul seems to be the most capable of attracting votes across many party lines.

I think so as well. Liberal vs Liberal in the general election and many will stay home in all parties. As a result just like 1992 & 1996 the DEM will have an easy win unless a major scandal occurs within a week of the election. I would add that if anyone but Gore had ran in 2000 Bush would not have been elected either. Had Kerry played center rather than ultra liberal he would have likely won. The GOP can't seem to grasp that though.
