Murtha’s Pennsylvania district is tantamount to a third-world dictatorship. It is virtually devoid of private sector jobs. The population has become almost totally dependent upon suckling the government teat. His constituents look at this guy like Rush Limbaugh’s pony-tailed guy looked at Clinton. “You are our daddy...what are you going to do to take care of us?” This moron is actually considered a hero for making rude cloakroom threats, so long as it preserves government work for a few dozen people in Johnstown. Sad, but the business climate in PA is so lousy I would not count on it changing anytime soon.

Everything you say about Johnstown and the environs is on the mark. Murtha's constituents are not about to toss "their" thief and he'll be their Congressman until he's carried out feet first if it's left to the voters.

Unfortunately, I remember Johnstown when the steel mills were working overtime. The voters' attitude was no different then. They attributed their prosperity to the union and voted exactly as they were told while the unions lied to them and sold them down the river.

Nothing has changed and nothing is likely to.
