Alabama terrorism website is pulled amid outcry [Pro-life & gay-rights groups listed]

MONTGOMERY, ALA. — The Alabama Department of Homeland Security has taken down a website it operated that included gay-rights and antiwar organizations in a list of groups that could include terrorists.

The website identified different types of terrorists and included a list of groups it suggested could spawn terrorists. The list also included environmentalists, animal rights advocates and abortion opponents.

Howard Bayliss, chairman of the gay-rights group Equality Alabama, said he didn't understand why gay-rights advocates would be on the list.

"Our group has only had peaceful demonstrations. I'm deeply concerned we've been profiled in this discriminatory matter," Bayliss said.

The site included the groups under a description of what it called "single-issue extremists." That group includes people who feel they are trying to create a better world, the website said.

Birmingham attorney Eric Johnston, president of the Alabama Pro-Life Coalition, said he was concerned about any list that described people doing social justice work as terrorists.

"Our group's main mission is educational.

"The thought that we would somehow be harboring terrorists escapes me," he said.

Question: What is a terrorist group?
Answer: What ever the hell the government says one is. God help us all!

Anarchists/Maxists/Socialists/Communists riot at their antiAmerican war (but pro-Palestinian war) rallies. They are not marching for peace.

They are right to be investigated for terrorist sympathies.

If a pro-life organization is advocating arson or bombing of abortion clinics (even in the closed hours), then they too should be flagged.

The KKK attempt to wield terror as a weapon over the public too. But I guess some (on the Left) could say that the KKK waged an insurgent Civil War when Northern forces occupied the South during Reconstruction, so maybe they aren’t terrorists. At least this is the logic the Left uses in Iraq.

“The list also included environmentalists...”

Arson, tree spiking, and the Unabomber’s favorite trick “packaged bombs” by mail ARE terrorist acts.

Some of those groups might spawn loan nuts who would do acts of terrorism to make a political point. But we must not take our eyes off the 8-ball, the real threat is from the islamo-fascists terrorists who have organizations with a dedicated army of kooks who want to die for their religion and inflict as much carnage as possible. The most dangerous groups outside of Muslims are the Gore environmental whackos types, but they are not even 1/1000th of the threat posed by Muslims.

Absolutely, but environmental whackos are not going to fly planes into buildings. The Dept. of Homeland Security needs to concentrate on the much bigger threat.

And imagine what would happen if the gay animal rights groups joined forces with the anti-abortion environmentalists!

A terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist.

Just as modern muslim extremists graduated to ever more elaborate and larger more deadly tactics, so too will the enviro-whacks. It is a natural progression for the congenitally offended to seek bigger and better ways to vent their angers.

I don't want to belittle the threat of the environmental whacko's, but there is no comparison to Muslim terrorists. Until environmentalist strap bombs to themselves and intentionally kill as many innocent people, I can't put them in the same category.

Well, the site will be back in no time if Hillary (or any liberal) is elected president, but at that time with all the people’s names who does not agree with her Marxist’s views.

Loan nuts? They should keep an eye on that loan officer who was in all those Di-Tech ads a while back...he looked like someone who might go over the edge.

Mortgage terrorism is not a funny thing. There a billions of dollars of exotic loans that are going to reset any day now.

From their attitudes and their rhetoric, one can extrapolate their future course. They are not yet at the point of violence on a mass scale. However, should climate change accelerate or the perceived collapse of a predictable climate occur, the Gaea worshipers will attack their imagined enemies: those of us in the human race.

All to defend Mother Earth, of course. A noble endeavor, they will claim.
