It's amazing that he's alive, and even (apparently) on the road to recovery. A shotgun at close range is an absolutely devastating weapon.

Only in a nation that has disarmed itself would thieves even think of doing such a brazen crime at the height of the commuter flow time in a busy location....they had absolutely nothing to fear. A similar crime attempted in, say, Dallas would have resulted in fifty commuters drawing their sidearms and reducing these scum to a fine mist in the air and a mound of pulp.
May God Bless and Heal this brave young man, and may this event spur our British Friends to consider what the outcome might have been like if the passersby had been allowed the proper tools to attend to a matter such as this.
