Literacy may no longer be necessary. Pictures may be sufficient for the lower 50%. Actually, many years ago-I think under Jerry Brown-California commenced switching from verbal road signs to pictures i.e. instead of a sign reading “Watch For Falling Rocks” a picture of a slope, car and falling rocks was substituted.

Oh, c’mon...everyone is entitled to one really stupid typo at least once in their life. :)
I (to my everlasting shame) once wrote “squirrely” instead of “squarely”, in a short story I had written.
I thank God it was caught before it went to ‘print’.
