And it is very clear that science disproves the age of the universe as being approximately 6,000 years old.
I agree. I put quotes around the whole passage and included a link at the bottom. Its not mine. I just thought it was interesting. I posted to guy who sounded curious about how this 6000 year figure was arrive at.
How bout this. It is claimed by many that the bible is the literal word of God. In other words, since God is perfect then the bible is perfect. There are those who believe that the bible is inspired by god. I fall into this camp. I don’t think that God gave dictation. The bible is a very human tome. Its imperfect. And God wanted it to be that way. For starters, if God had at the time of the writing of the bible, said to its authors all about astro physics, evolution, anthropology, indeed the meaning of life and all the answers to everything, wouldn’t the peoples of time kinda gone “what the heck are ya talking about God?”. Secondly, he is like the magician that refuses to reveal how his tricks are done. The magician knows that if he reveals the truth about his tricks then he ceases to be relevant in the minds of his audience. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think this means he ceases to be relevant. Just in the minds of his audience and to their own detriment. So God inspires people. I believe God gently guided the hands of Einstein, Darwin, and others just as much as he did Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
