"The critics include mainstream conservatives, such as the National Review, and white supremacists."
I love how they sneak this line in there, insinuating that if you are a critical of their handling (or lack thereof) of this story, you just may be a white supremist.

white supremacists." Nearly every article I've found on this subject, 'white supremacist' is somewhere in it. It's their way of making this look like the only ones who care about this story are racists. It seems a lot of outlets wouldn't touch this story with a ten foot pole. They don't want to be seen as racists.

just out of curiosity, would they expect the relative handful of white supremacists in our country to not be against this vile race crime?
they are trying to dampen the impact by sullying the detractors by association.
just take some time and look who populates newsrooms these days acting in their own group identity’s special interest
and also note how white supremacists are no longer what passes for racism.....racism today means anyone who doesn’t endorse everything minority ....a far cry from back when there were more real racists around
there is more racism directed at whites from every corner of our culture than vice versa...far more.
i’m convinced of it.

It's even worse than that. The sentence is formulated to include, under the heading of mainstream conservatism, white supremacy. David Duke and Fred Thompson, all samee samee.

There is a comma after National Review, but if you don't pay attention, you will read what they really wanted to say:
The critics include mainstream conservatives, such as the National Review and white supremacists.

I mean, as soon as somebody had an electronic Internet megaphone, the opportunity to throw brickbats at the media just got amplified from the backyard-over-the-fence to an e-mail or a blog.I like this gem also. I think he's trying to say that the unwashed masses can keep an eye on us now.
