Read the story that prompted this column
Mike Flaherty, San Carlos
An F, for failure to de-fund the war. Instead of playing commander-in-chief with timetables, benchmarks, etc, they should have used their constitutional power of the purse if they were at all serious. F for leadership, F for integrity and F for execution. Harry Reid does receive a C+ for most disheartening comment made by a U.S. senator in time of war and for furnishing aid and comfort to the enemy.
Julie Bennett, San Francisco
C-. It's their turn, and I feel like they are wimping out. They are asking the right questions, but when they get the same weak answers they aren't taking the next step. Flex that power!
Lucretia Marcus, Alamo
Fs all across the board. The Democrats were elected to stop the war in Iraq and to get our troops home. They have failed that promise. I am utterly disappointed and disgusted at their actions. They are no better than the GOP.
Janice Hough, Palo Alto
Grading the Democrats when Bush has veto power is like trying to grade a student when the teacher rewrites all their papers. Although if we are grading on a curve, they should get an "A" just for showing up.
Patricia Erickson, South San Francisco
C+. Expected reforms watered down.
Bill Witt, Palo Alto
For now, the Democrats get an F.

“H.L Mencken put it best when he said Nobody ever went broke underestimateing the intelligence of the American people.”
Yes, the last 30 years of Pubic (sic) education has turned the US into a country of Morons, but that is just what elitist socialist desire.
With the new amnesty, my failed president, Dimowit congress, and probable Demowit president in 09, I really do not see myself returning to the US

Last but not least, I am always reminded of an old Steve Goodman song, Election Year Rag, that contained the lines:
You take two steps to the left, two steps to the right.
Then you stand in the middle and you hold on tight
I’m your dark horse and you’re my nag.
Do that election year rag
If you feel like you need a scorecard
Well you really don’t have to fuss.
You know the winners always somebody else
So shake it to the east, shake it to the west
Hand me down my bullet proof vest
It’s nobody’d choice and it’s anybodys guess
Do that election (it ain’t no selection)
Do that election year rag

Harry Reid does receive a C+ for most disheartening comment made by a U.S. senator in time of war and for furnishing aid and comfort to the enemy. So he gets higher marks for that...ooooookay.

It’d be interesting to see what grade a group of Republicans would give the Republican members of Congress. I imagine it’d be about the same.

Great post. Thanks for adding it to the others. I keep coming back to C for cowards; T for traitors; W for worthless; K for Kicked out of office; S for Send the POS home. I think we should send each POS in Congress a copy.

You can’t compare between what you call kindness and what I would like to post because we definitely are thinking alike!
