Reagan had the opposite effect. He even managed to turn my 50 year old dad and long-time Democrat into a Republican.
Reagan knew the value of inspiring, direct and clear communication. He had charisma and confidence.
Bush is no Reagan. He's the GOP's Carter, only less articulate!
